University of Idaho in Concert

FRIDAY | DECEMBER 6, 2019 7:00 PM
Join the University of Idaho’s Piano Department and the MTNA Collegiate Chapter for a holiday celebration with exuberant dances and beautiful songs of Liszt, Brahms, Rachmaninoff, Bizet and more. You will hear a variety of settings, from solo piano to two piano, eight hand transcriptions. The concert will feature the esteemed piano faculty of the Lionel Hampton School of Music: Dr. Roger McVey, Dr. Eneida Larti, Dr. Gustavo Castro, guest pianist Dr. Sam Welsh, and students from the MTNA Collegiate Chapter. Now a holiday tradition, this U of I group loves to include the audience and ends its program with a boisterous holiday medley that invites everyone to sing along.   The MTNA Collegiate Chapter at the University of Idaho is an active student organization that pursues educational research in the field of music and contributes to its community through outreach activities. This year, the organization has the distinction of being invited to present its research at the 2020 National MTNA Conference in Chicago. While admission is free, we welcome donations to help make the students’ travel to Chicago possible. We look forward to seeing you at the concert!
